Hey - Keep It Down

As I was walking to the garage this morning, the silence of suburbia was shattered by some noisy geese flying overhead.

I'm not sure why they were still here (if I was to fly south for the winter, I would have left weeks ago) but they were making a horrible racket.

Not speaking goose (or duck, or whatever...) I'm not sure what they were trying to say but it was loud and sounded important - sort of like this:

For a moment I closed my eyes and imagined they were gulls. I thought of being warm and by the ocean (probably inspired by Kelly's recent photos) for just a moment before the cold and wind snapped me back to reality.

Perhaps there is something to that flying to warmer climates idea after all...

I love the sound and the scenery very much. Anything but palm trees. Jeez. And I took some vid of the waves yesterday, but was too lazy to figure out how to get it on my site. The sound is what's most amazing, because it really roars. I think I like the geese better. Much better.

Today, heavy clouds have moved in, it's windy, and cold. Well, if you count 55 degrees as cold (which we do). People actually turn on heaters in offices and whine about it. I enjoy it. Tomorrow it's actually supposed to rain again. I can't wait!

That is one thing I noticed when I was in California was the lack of variety in the trees. Palm Trees are pretty boring, especially when that is all that you see. And they don't change colors.

Maybe where you are is South for the geese. It's all relative. And in the words of an old Crash Test Dummies song: "How does a duck know which direction south is?"
