Wilco – Sky Blue Sky

The newest effort by Wilco is getting some pretty heavy play around here. As always, this band is one that is hard (if not impossible) to categorize, but this seems to be a return to the naturalness that made Being There so great. It is all new but yet seems so familiar, and comfortable, even on the first listen – and just gets better.

The musicianship is top notch, Nils Cline shines with some outstanding lead work throughout matched with the unmistakeable grunge of Tweedy’s distortion laced riffs (Impossible Germany is brilliant!!).

And how can you not love these lyrics from What Light:

And if the whole world’s singing your songs
And all of your paintings have been hung
Just remember what was yours
is everyone’s from now on

Highly Recommended!!
